Cute Little Felted Wristlet
I know I've said this before....but I absolutely love knitting projects that involve "felting", and this little wristlet was a quick, easy project that turned out just adorable! I casted on 100 stitches to a pair of circular needes and knitted away! How many rows you ask???? Well not sure.....but it was about 7 inches long. I then casted of half of the stiches, and then continued to stitch the other 50 to make the flap for the closure. I eventually decreased each row by 3 stitches. I then sewed the bottom together....threw it in the washer on HOT and high agitation....and waited as the washer did it's magic! It's just amazing to see the transformation on the fabric! I then rinsed it with cold water, rung it out, and shaped it by hand. Since it was pretty plain I thought it needed some embellishing. I added some white trim, sewed on a large snap for the closure, made a braided handle and added a cute pom-pom as the finishing touch! What a great little Christmas gift!

Shhh....it's a secret....
.....for my "Secret Santa" that is!!! Isn't this scarf cute and cuddly! Last night I had a partial ball of yarn and wondered what could I do with this. I thought it would be perfect for a scarf, but knew I wouldn't have enough yarn to make it very long. But, really....who needs all that bulky length anyway....so I decided to make a short little scarf or "neck warmer". I then made a little flower to accent it and "voila"....adorable! I have decided I am going to give this to my secret santa. This was so easy and quick....I will definitely be making more soon!
In a previous post, I mentioned that I made "Fire Starters" for the holiday boutique.....above is a picture of them....cute, huh! I found the idea on-line and thought this was a great idea! Our home is old and we have a wood burning fireplace, so I know the importance of these to get a good fire going. The fire starters are made out of empty toilet paper rolls and lint. I had everyone I know saving lint for me....even my hubby was bringing it home from work for me! You simply stuff the toilet paper rolls with the lint (make sure to pack them really full) and then I simply wrapped them craft paper and tied the ends with bakers twine. Easy, peasy!!! Put them in a little basket and set them on your mantel...super cute!

Getting Ready for the Boutique
This weekend is the holiday boutique! I can't wait to go and check out all the cute, unique items! I hope to get some Christmas shopping done as well! I knitted dish cloths and scarves and also made some fire starters. I love the dishcloths and use them all the time. They are made with 100% cotton yarn and I have packaged them in sets of 2....a perfect gift for teachers, neighbors, friends and family. I only made a few scarves (as I simply ran out of time) and am curious to see how my fire starters sell. They are made out of empty toilet paper rolls, lint (yes...I said lint from your dryer), craft paper and cooking twine. Hope to see you at the boutique! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

After a busy summer and fall, I am finally back knitting and getting ready for Finch's Holiday boutique which I am participating in once again. I am knitting up some cotton dishcloths, cute scarves and am also making some "fire starters" (nope not knitting these...hahaha) and whatever else I come up with at the last minute. Here is the info for the Boutique...spread the word and hope to see you there!
